Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated—in fact, it often starts with the smallest daily habits. At Gather Pilates, we’re big believers in the power of a Self-Care Ritual to help you find balance and optimize your health. Whether it’s soaking in sunlight, stepping outside for a breath of fresh air, or moving your body with a little Pilates, these simple, everyday practices can have a profound impact on how you feel.

This season in McCall, Idaho—where winter adventures await around every corner—we invite you to create a new family-friendly evening routine. After a long day carving down Brundage, exploring snowy trails, or playing with the kids in the fresh powder, there’s nothing like coming home to cozy, nurturing drinks designed for relaxation, better digestion, and deeper sleep. These recipes are simple enough to share with loved ones and can be customized for every palate—whether you crave warming spices, caffeine-free comfort, or soothing chocolate.

1. Golden Milk (Banyan Botanicals Turmeric Milk Mix)

A classic for a reason—Golden Milk is the ultimate relaxing bedtime drink. Turmeric provides renowned anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support, while warming ginger and spices gently kindle digestion, soothe inflammation, and help calm the nervous system—all of which can encourage restful sleep. Many of our clients enjoy making this soothing beverage part of their nightly self-care ritual, sharing a mug with family as a delicious way to wind down together.

Recipe:

  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy, coconut, almond, or oat)
  • 1 tsp Banyan Botanicals Turmeric Milk Mix
  • Sweetener to taste (maple syrup or honey work beautifully)

Warm the milk in a small saucepan. Whisk in Turmeric Milk Mix and optional sweetener until smooth and steamy. Pour into your favorite mug, cozy up, and enjoy.

2. Warm Milk with Cinnamon and Cardamom

Soothing and aromatic, this comforting drink is a true family favorite in our home. Growing up, my kids enjoyed this gentle mix as part of their bedtime routine. Cinnamon and cardamom are more than just flavorful—they help ease digestion, offer natural sweetness, and are said in Ayurveda to help relax both the digestive tract and the mind, making them ideal for winding down in the evening and supporting restful sleep.

Recipe:

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
  • Drizzle of honey or your preferred sweetener

Heat milk with cinnamon and cardamom until just simmering. Stir in a drizzle of honey, pour into mugs, and share this relaxing ritual before bed.

3. CCF Evening Tea (Banyan Botanicals CCF Tea)

Ideal after a hearty dinner, CCF Tea (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel) is a time-tested Ayurvedic blend that gently supports digestion and calms the mind—making it excellent for an after-dinner wind down.

Recipe:

  • 1 heaping tsp Banyan Botanicals CCF Tea blend
  • 1–2 cups hot water

Steep the CCF blend in freshly boiled water for 5–7 minutes. Strain and sip slowly in the evening, or invite the family to enjoy this herbal, naturally caffeine-free tea together. Shop CCF Tea.

4. Herbal Coffee Alternative Nightcap

Looking to leave caffeine behind but miss your evening coffee ritual? Create a soothing, nourishing nightcap using roasted chicory and dandelion root (widely available in natural food stores).

Recipe:

  • 1 heaping tsp roasted chicory/dandelion root blend (or coffee alternative)
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Splash of milk or milk alternative
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Brew as you would tea, steeping blend in hot water for 5–7 minutes. Top with your choice of milk and a dash of cinnamon for a grounding, coffee-like treat—no jitters, just relaxation.

5. Cozy Cocoa with Spiced Twist (featuring Banyan Botanicals’ Chai Spice Blend)

For the chocolate lovers, this warm cocoa is kicked up a notch with balancing Ayurvedic spices—delicious and comforting for kids and grownups alike.

Recipe:

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 heaping tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp Banyan Botanicals Chai Spice Blend (or a pinch each of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper)
  • Sweetener to taste

Warm milk, then whisk in cocoa powder, spice blend, and sweetener until smooth. Pour into mugs and enjoy together for a soothing, chocolatey finish to your day. Shop Chair Spice Blend.
